Thank you for helping us reach 31% of our goal of 100 donors in honor of Coach Lyle Smith’s 100th Birthday! Lyle joined the military in 1942 and was called to active duty during the 1950 season to serve in the Korean War, taking a leave from his post as Head Football Coach of Boise Junior College. Coaching his last game before his departure, his players carried him off the field after a victory over Ricks College. Coach Smith served a total of 31 years in both active and reserve military roles. Thank you for helping his legacy live on by supporting Bronco student-athlete scholarships!

At 100 years old, Lyle is still an active member of the Boise State community, regularly visiting the Bleymaier Football Complex, attending basketball and football games and visiting with his many friends on campus.  Thank you for helping his legacy live on by supporting Bronco student-athlete scholarships!
