FMA to New York 2019

FMA's mission is to help students build financial literacy skills and to guide members through the complexity of the financial world. Since bigger financial institutions do not normally recruit students from universities like Boise State, it can be difficult to get opportunities in the industry. Therefore, we aim to help connect our members with prominent institutions.

We have already taken measures to achieve our mission ever since we reactivated the club last January. Relationships with various financial firms, such as Clearwater Analytics and Goldman Sachs, have been established. In addition, we actively participate in campus networking opportunities through the College of Business and Economics. During our weekly club meetings, we have interviewed business leaders over video calls, and covered topics including entrepreneurship and financial strategies.

In May, we had the opportunity to travel and visit Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake City. This proved to be a very profitable networking opportunity, which is why we are pursuing this trip to New York. We plan to visit firms such as Bloomberg and Investopedia, tour relevant landmarks like the Federal Reserve, and interview investment banking professionals.

We appreciate any donation to support our trip. Your contribution is integral not only for New York, but also to allow FMA to continue our mission through future ventures.
