Help COBE students travel to a venture capital conference
We're a bunch of students from Boise State. In association with the College of Business and Economics, we work as a group of hungry interns for VentureCapital.org (VCO). VCO is based in Salt Lake City, a fast-growing city known by some as the Silicon Slopes. Boise has a robust startup community, but relatively, it is a startup desert. We at VCO are engaged in fostering the entrepreneurial community in Boise, but as world students, we want to learn from exemplars.
We know that Salt Lake is in the midst of great success growing its startup community. We are fundraising to visit Salt Lake City and join the main VCO team in watching the best startups in the organization pitch for money. We will take away valuable experiential learning by watching teams give their final pitch iterations. We've already seen what VCO teams do when they start the process. Seeing VCO teams pitching in their final form will demonstrate what is expected of new entrants, and these teams will be our aspirational demonstrations.
By taking in an impressive series of pitches and meeting these teams in person, we as VCO interns will apply our experience to our groundwork with teams in Boise. Like we said - Boise is a startup desert. This is only the Boise of today. We at VCO, in conjunction with COBE, believe that Boise's entrepreneurial spirits are kindred, and as we build a community, these individuals will group together and become more than the sum of their parts.
