The Legacy Project was launched in February 2021 in conjunction with Boise State alums Mike Campbell (Football, 1973-74), Trent Johnson (Men’s Basketball 1974-78), Carl Powell (Men’s Basketball, 1977-79), and Booker Brown (Men’s Basketball 1971-73). The first class of Legacy Project honorees was a fraternity of Black student-athletes who competed between 1968-80, and helped lay the foundation for diversity and inclusion in Bronco Athletics before going on to successful careers in sport and beyond. This group attended school during the early years of Boise Junior College, Boise State College and later Boise State University, laying a significant part of the foundation for the University.
The Mike Campbell Legacy Project endowment has been created by Bronco alumni Carl Powell, Trent Johnson, and Booker Brown to help fund student-athlete scholarships and ensure an inclusive student-athlete experience.
