Christopher W. Markley Silver Dragon Scholarship

Christopher Markley earned a degree in Geology in 2013 from Boise State University. Throughout his life, his true passion was gems and rocks, and he highly valued education. Christopher was a hard worker who was known for his perseverance in accomplishing any objective. Chris loved stories of fantasy and magic, symbolized by dragons (with a special preference for silver dragons).

Christopher would have celebrated his 40th birthday on Tuesday, September 5, but his life was cut short when a semi-truck crashed into a road construction site where Christopher was waiting for the direction of a traffic signaler. His family wishes to establish a lasting legacy to honor Christopher’s memory and help other students, year after year, who are eager to learn geoscience.
