Help Our Class Buy Books For Children in Need!
The Books in Every Home project is raising funds to buy new books for children in need.
Our class has learned that children with books in the home read at a skill level three years ahead of peers who lack this privilege, so we are buying books for families who might not be able to purchase them for themselves.
With your help, we will visit a Boise elementary school, read aloud to school children in early elementary grades, and send the kids home with books we have hand-selected for them. At this school, 99% of children qualify for free or reduced lunch and only 27% of students read at grade level proficiency. This is a school with real need.
